The products ,,think riological" connect functionality, ecology and style. We used the material which would otherwise end up in the nearest dump and we conjured up from this bits of car-cover material these beautiful creations. Due to the newest trends we hand-made products such as necklaces, belts, glass-boxes, brooches etc. It is just about ur choice, and there is no chance anyone else to choose and wear the same one.

Glass-box

The EwB National Collaboration Award

On Thursday 18th March 2010 Polus city center in Bratislava hosted the 15th year of The EwB National Collaboration Award. Among 250 companies only 50 were chosen to come, and we were one of them :)

Not only we participated, but we have also won 3rd prize for management skills, which is the main category, therefore we are proud to announce that we are thrid best company in Slovakia :) Of course because of you all. Thanks !

It was a light-full march night, which became the legend of being the one of the bests for students of GT12. And not only for them, of course. Everyone who was prepared for a original dance night was welcomed to come.

Forever Young Hearts Movie Night

Thursday 11th February was our beautiful, but non - profit day. We have invited company ARTest from Košice to our school in order to have a animated-movie night. The main job of the company is to deal with a youngsters with Down syndrome. They all loved the movie and afterwards we have had a chat and something small to eat, which was prepared by Simča as well as all the other needs of the day. Not only we have seen a movie on the screen, but these younsters have played for us a part of Little prince. In return we have showed them the area of our school, which is kind of maze.

We are sure our friendship will be under the strict eye to be maintained :)

Valentine´s Day

Rio was spreading love on 12th February, until we were all fulfiled with endorfines. Valentine´s post service was one of those services, which students are massively excited about for a simple reason. Secrets atract people. And our boot was full of it. Who would not want a love letter from secret admirer? And what about some sweet surprise?

The obvious thing that comes hand in hand with a new year is a diverse set of the resolutions. We have decided to be even more efficient, to work harder, to concentrate more on both our study and company, as well as study abroad etc, therefore the change in the internal structure of our company was ineavitable. There is a change on many of the positions within the company, some peole needed to slow down and some came up highe. And here you can see , that even in the student´s company one may experience career growth.

Dear customers, admirers and students of GT12! No upcoming festivals? Even The Valentine´s Day is about to be on Sunday... RIO has decided to slightly pre-celebrate The Day of Lovers on Friday. Here it is! The last day before half term break, the Valentine´s spirit!

There is a easy solution for all the mess about whether to try or not, have your honest say and send a letter of truth or apology to your one. 12.02.2010 is the day when RIO is going to be there to solve your problems round the corner. Not only you cand send the message, there will be some nice tiny good bargains waiting for you and your love :) So please, do not be afraid to hand out your feelings to the world !!!

Calendar 2010

...and finally here is what we have been waiting for and expecting at the beginning of every upcoming year = Calendar :) Very fresh, colourful, bright and beautiful is the right description for what you get for just 3,50 €. What about a new fresh look of your room at the start of a new year ?!?

The whole proces of preparing the calnedar much longer that one can imagine. Not only we divided the calendar into themes for the class, we have also taken the picture of the class during the breaks and took the pictures of them in the self arranged classes. We used diverse veriety of themes, such as seasons, bank holidays, Day of Fools, Day of Children, Prom, Michal Jackson, Christmas, Halloween and other festivals etc.

Saint Nicolaus

This year was no exception to the prexmas tradition called The day of St.Nicolaus. The day of surprises and sweets took place in our school at 7th December. We could not disappoint the students and thererefore RIO took a lead in being a Santa’s guard.

Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?
With no hesitation it was, apart from the preparation bit. It is not easy to imagine what does it obtain to prepare and pack all in all about 500 hundred packets. Friday was the day, when all the staff of RIO under the lead of Natalia spent the day just and only in one room, our official office, but for that that nothing else but just room of colours, sweets, work and laughter. The more sweets were used, the less space for our red packets there was and finally there was nothing left of both mentioned above. We could go home to get some more sleep during the weekend for the upcoming Monday.

Monday’s plan was clear from the beginning and we could go to visit the first classes of the morning. Muses, Laura and Beca, announced the coming of Nicolaus. Afterwards a devil came with a bit of his kind of fun. Singing of the classes was followed by the final act of handing out the red packets with sweets to the pupils. Well unless they have not done the singing duty and then off we go out with no surprises. Fortunatelly it happened just once when Santa’s elfs refused to hand them out. Fortunatelly there was Simca, the angel of godness, to show the mercy and hand out them the sweets, but in return she expect not to happen it again.

There is no better word to express how we felt at the end of the day than exhausted, but in a good way. To organize the event for the whole school as well as to sing, dance and fool around for all the day as well, was well tiring, but an unforgetable experience

Čoko Loko

Room of the previous tea room has changed compeletely since the October in its basics and nowadays it is known for its very familiar and welcoming atmosphere for students of all the ages, especially for the youngsters. Playfully named Čoko Loko.

Stundents have a opportunity to have its tea time with some small snack at any point of the day but usually during breakfast break. In the times of need we offer labs coats for chemics or biology students as well as atlases for geaography st. .

In the first extremely cold winter days we did not do what majority would, but we have decided to attend an event in order to represent our school. It was 15. and 16. december when we have settled for a while in Centrum voľného času Domino, Popradská 86, Košice. We tried our best to persuade many yet undesided and pretty undesisive students to give GT12 a try, therefore we hope that our effort and argumentation skills will soon pay off.

Trebishowská OLDIES PARTY

As we can see on the poster, our party took place in the famous Stars club in Košice on 28/11/2009. Everyone was free to come as long as he had permittion from parents as well, therefore not just students of our school, but anyone.
We, as organizatores, arrived to the club much earlier in order to have everything ready for 8 p.m., when first guests were expected to arrive.

At start we would like to provide you some (un)neccessary facts.
Študentská spoločnosť RIO was establish at the date of 7th September 2009 next to Gymnázium Trebišovská 12.
That is all you need to know for now :)

Our school cooperate with the Junior Achievement organization each year, and this year is not an exception. They gave us an opportunity and support in this project, where creative, active and funny people will improve their skills. For these year we are all of those people mentioned :P

The name of our company RIO may sound familiar to you and you are right. The first thing on your mind may be the squash available in any ordinary shop or it may remind you of a well known pub in Bratislava. Firstly we did not realise it, but after some time our shareholders brightened our minds and we are very thankfull for that :)
The roots of our name are not very wide, the proces was based on spontaneity. Hand in hand with the name we thought out our motto as well : ‚Live your carneval‘ . We wanted it to be something amusing, something that would gain your attention. ,,We need something temperative, something like Rio de Janeiro." Great idea was slightly shortened and here we are in colours of the city known for its carnevals.
You may have realised, that these three letters bring luck, therefore we hope we are no exception :P

RIO. Be aware of this name as the name of the students‘ company that would each day of this year there with you in order to brighten up your lives. That is what we mainly aim to do :)

Plan of the international trade

The priority is to be offering high quality products and services, which posses the ability to be demanded abroad. Our products with the school’s logo, or the logo of partner-schools, will be introduced into the market in many of the cooperating countries.
In order to increase the effectivity we will use the strategic plan of the company. The main role will be done in cooperation with the marketing and production department. Our aim is to exchange products between us and our international partners, afterwards they will be offered to the school in our school chocolate store.

The communication will be done mainly through the internet, e-mails or phone. The products sent will be rather seasonal products therefore it is not possible to define them at the beginning. At the beginning of each new product we would consider the marketing plano f the company and adapt it to the circumnstances recognized by the primary market research. .

Students‘ company RIO, š.s. will take work next to the Secondary School Trebisovska 12 in Kosice. Students‘ company is the part of the educative system. Applied economy, which is the part of the project set by Junior Achievement Slovensko, n.o. , will provide economically based knowledge on the standards higher than average. It will be achieved by different kinds of projects, e.g. students‘ companies. The aim of the project is to help students to find their way in the world of market economy. Apart from this knowledge, students would gain much more, practical experiences in terms of enterprise. Furthermore they would have an opportunity to examine their skills and their presumptions for the job of a manager. Company will target its offers mainly onto the market of our coevals – schoolmates, and on the closest community of the school ( employees, parents, teachers etc.). The main criteria is remains the same – effectively, therefore achievement of the profit.

Students‘ company RIO, š.s. started up at 7th September 2009 on the field of The Secondary schol Trebišovská 12 in Košice as the students‘ company, which similates the operating of an incorporated company.

The owners of the students‘ company RIO, š.s. are all the shareholders, including employees, but directing and operating is only in the competence of the management and the employees of the company.

Marketing, as one of the principles of the trading policies of the company, does not consist just and only of the process of selling the products. Its target is to get to know customes‘ needs as well as to fullfill them. The research will be done through investigation within the students. We will try to reach our targets with sufficient profits. To do so we plan to introduce the products into the market at the right time and with the right price.
Success, or unsuccess, would be depend on the well-prepared marketing strategy, which will reasure these sales policies are followed and to make it easier it would use these main policies:

 Product – aiming on quality of service and products offered
 Price – it is not important to bring to offer the best, but to find the balance between the real-use value and price.
 Promotion – presentation of the product or service, which must be targeted on the well chosen market segmenation group
 Place – key is to find a proper way and place how to sell the product
 People – it goes on just with skilly people.

The main part of this strategy would be a regular detailed market research. It is a very popular tradition, therefore we would like to maintain it, but as we are RIO we would like to do it in rather original way by using a different theme on each page of the calendar following the events happening, e.g. Christmas, Halloween etc..

After last year’s success we would design our own line of the elegant shirts with the logo of GT12 for every day use.

This year we would like to maintain the tradition of a annual photoshoot. With a agreement of a head of the school we would take a lesson from previous years and have it done under our year by year stricter eye. Quality and flexibility go first.

Halloween Party

Wuaaa! The Wednesday's night was THE night of fear and fun. 28.10.2009, the date was well chosen, as it was the last day before autumn break. SOLD OUT.

We were kind of scared when it came to the decoration. We wanted everything to scream halloween. Therefore we were madly searching for any pumpkins possible. Dia, Zuzka and Gabika made sure there was sufficient amounth of baloons, leaves and candlestands as well. The rooms was perfect.

David found a right place for speakers, music was on and people in masks were in right mood to dance. Born dancer Claudia managed to teach them some of steps in tunes of Michal Jackson and the song Chocolate, as a advert for the opening of our school chocolate store.

For this time there was Simca serving in the buffet. The combination of a balloned table cover and homebaked muffins, american brownies and marble cake turned out to be succes. For thirst there was nothing else but the real halloween alcohol free toddy.

Children were out of their minds on the parkets, whilst we were preparing the NIGHT GAME. Lights were turned off, everyone was on the right place, where the various competionts would occur. In masks we were unrecognizable.

The night game celabrated a great succes and finally slightly struggled with demand and therefore organization as well. Some number of teams was added up to original and everything was on its rails again with no difference.
At the starting point teams were provided with a map and one torch only. Once and then there were prepared some traps in terms of competions, such as drinking awfully slimy drinks, eating ants or finding their way in the spider web. In exchange of ducats. It turned out to be an unforgetable experience, mainly for the youngsters, which should thank to Peta and her great organization skills.

With small failures, but great demand, we would consider this event as a real success.

It was Thursday, 8th October, when our first real event took place, as well as the examination and introduction of our students' company.

It was basically an exam pointing at our organizational skills, calculations and our assumptions. According to the past companies we were afraid of possible losses, failure or misscariage` the risk was obvious.

We are glad to state following : There was one member of crew, to whom with no hesitations all of our thanks should go. Peta, made sure this event was working as it was planned if not better. Thanks.

The parents were in danger of Milka and Beka's skills from summer job to add up some sugar to their days.

Natalia and Milka brought some of their home baked treats, which seemed to be unresisitible. Muffins were gone without a notice :)

All in all event was if nothing else our first success.

General meeting

Our student’s company has chosen one of those symbolical calendary dates to held the opening Plenary assembly. 29.09.2009 was one of those first cold autumn mornings, which was not helpfull our for any pitty reason increasing nervosity. Noone could deny, that first impression is made only once. Well dressed and with much higher heels as usually we found hour way into the common room, where the debut presentation of our student’s company took place.

The room was crowded enough, shares were sold out, there was nothing else to wish apart from the success of our opening speeches. We went for success and information and no boredom overally.
Our wishes became reality.
At the end we took opportunity of the weather change outside and took some introductury photos whilst some of us went outside just to enjoy the day. It was an beautiful sunny day of autumn in its early days, beautiful in any case.
